Who Is BMS Direct?
Established in 1973, BMS Direct is a local, family-owned business that will be celebrating their 50th year anniversary August 2023. When it started, BMS had a goal to be a partner of choice and create a direct mail service to help clients improve their marketing and branding initiatives. There has been a lot of growth and change over the last 50 years; today, BMS Direct is a premier invoice processing provider to municipalities, healthcare, financial institutions and other businesses.
CORE Values
BMS Direct Operates under four core values:
- Customer Success
- Teamwork
- Integrity
-
Responsibility
These values are at the center of everything they do, and are the driver behind the company’s commitment to creating a greener future.
Sustainability
BMS Direct’s commitment to sustainability has never been stronger. Their approach is integrated throughout the business to strive to protect the environment, empower people and get results in a way that has impacts for today and for the future. Over the years, the BMS team has continually looked for means to be an environmentally friendly business, initiating sustainability initiatives with the goal of protecting the global ecosystems for the sake of future generations.
These initiatives have included the installation of public Tesla and standard EV charging stations, and the company’s own use of Tesla EV vehicles. BMS has also installed motion activated LED lighting throughout the 80,000 sq. ft. facility and they recycle all material waste by partnering with recycling companies. Their team believes in impacting the environment for the better, and in 2016, decided to initiate a “going green” solar initiative by installing 922 panels on the roof of the building. This first phase of the project supplemented approximately 55% of their overall energy consumption. Since then, as energy prices have continued to rise, BMS decided to continue down the solar path and maximize their roof space with the addition of more panels. With over $1 million in total investment, including 1,489 panels generating 696 MWh per year, BMS Direct should cover 100% of their on peak demand each day while also feeding access power back to grid.
According to President James LaPrade, their sustainability efforts are not just for themselves. He says, “One benefit for our clients is that we can better manage our fixed costs which in turn allows us to pass some of our savings along by holding prices where others may continue to increase due to inflation.”
As an industry leader in the transactional print and mail industry, in partnership with their clients, BMS is committed to continuing to leave a green impact, because they can see the difference it is making, both locally and in their industry on a global level.
